Oscar has completely redone our bathroom (gutted and full renovation). *The communication was easy and very comprehensive from start, throughout the project. *The quote was respected. *All the details we initially asked for were perfectly understood and executed. The full quality of the work is very impressive. *The timeline was short given the amount of work, all thanks to Oscar dedication. *Every unexpected issues were dealt with swiftly. We can only recommend and validate the other 5 stars reviews and comments! We feel so grateful! Thanks again Oscar! lizzie shannon2025-07-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Oscar did a superb job of gutting and completely refitting my bathroom. I was out of the country the whole time he was there and he was brilliant in his constant communications, complete with photos and descriptions to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it. (I had a very detailed plan which was fulfilled perfectly).I had a house guest while I was away who said the level of disruption was completely minimal and when I returned the place was very clean. I was particularly impressed by Oscar's tile work, some of it really beautiful and definitely the work of a real artisan. On my return, he followed up with a couple of minor issues that needed sorting out very quickly. I would highly recommend him. He is a consummate professional, a kind and thoughtful man and an extremely talented bathroom fitter. Unfortunately, we live in a world where online, anonymous reviews carry a lot of weight and I want to reassure anyone considering Oscar to disregard this. I am yet to meet a tradesman that works harder than him. Also, kudos to Oscar for putting his family first – being self-employed often forces us to make the wrong decision, but it sounds like he did right by those who matter most. Second, I was so delighted with my bathroom (pictures to come) that I am excited for him to start work on a second project (as soon as he has availability). I have also spent the last four months imploring anyone who will listen, to use him. My experience of Oscar is as follows: - Extremely punctual (rang our doorbell at 8am on the dot, every single day. If he had to collect materials, he'd always message in advance to let me know). - Impeccable attention to detail. - Very resourceful and ingenious – our bathroom is 2m x 2m, but now features a separate bath and shower, sink and toilet (the stuff of dreams). - Very accommodating (Oscar catered to all my whims, when many others might have started to resent me for it). - Unbelievably hard-working (I don't think I ever saw him have lunch and he'd down one cup of coffee in the morning – THAT WAS IT! For the rest of the time he was working away). I rarely leave reviews, let alone long-winded ones like this, but I felt compelled to counter the negative review below as I don't believe it's at all fair or representative of just how good Oscar is. If you're on the fence, my recommendation – look at his website for the quality of his work and then call him. Talk through your project, meet him and make the decision yourself. Don't rely on strangers from the internet. If you do, you could end up passing on the best bathroom fitter in North London. Thanks again Oscar, see you soon! He was always very professional and clear in his communications with us before and during the project, sending us daily updates and photos of progress while we were away. All the plumbing, tiling and fittings were done to a very high standard and to the agreed timeline, and he clearly respected our home keeping everything very tidy. We'd had horrible experiences with multiple other builders, and Oscar totally saved us. Will definitely want to be working with him again on our next project! Initially, he came across as a good communicator—reassuring, professional, and seemingly competent. However, once the job began, it quickly became apparent that Oscar was hardly going to be on-site, claiming he was busy juggling multiple projects. The tradespeople he employed were either inexperienced or in a rush, resulting in incomplete or poorly executed work. For instance, a new door was hung off-center, floor joists were left loose, and incorrect plumbing parts were installed inside the newly plastered wall. As the project timeline began to slip, Oscar told us that a member of his family had died and therefore needed time off work. Two weeks later he told us that he was experiencing a mental health emergency that prevented him from working or driving. Given the gravity of these events, we were understanding and supportive, as weeks went by occasionally checking in to ask when he could return. Oscar would respond with vague reassurances, apologising for the delays and promising to finish the work soon. Weeks passed with no progress and no working bathroom. When we asked him whether he could send someone else to complete the job, he told us he was keen to finish it himself as nobody else would have had the same attention to detail. Then, by chance, we encountered him one afternoon at a hardware store, where he appeared perfectly fit to work and drive. He looked at us in shock and drove off abruptly. Following this, Oscar blocked our number, making impossible to reach him and leaving the project abandoned. If the review of his work posted on mybuilder.com on 2nd November is real, this would indicate that he continued to work on other projects throughout the period when he told us he was off work due to his personal emergencies. This experience has been incredibly stressful and expensive. Whether or not Oscar was dealing with real personal challenges, his overall conduct with us and lack of professionalism have been totally unacceptable. He never returned the deposit which he received from us in good faith before the start of the work. As of September 18th, our bathroom was completely gutted, and for nearly three months now, we’ve been left without a toiler, a shower and a sink in our flat. Based on our experience, we strongly urge everyone to steer clear of this builder, who has proven to be nothing short of a con. Google rating score: 4.2 of 5,
